Our services include:

  • Geotechnical – Test Pits, capable of excavating depths of 3.5m depths. Depending on processes, sampling & testing depths, we can complete 25 test pits per day.  We support the engineer with DCP, either physically or just simply log the blows.  A push tube attachment is applied to the excavator bucket to avoid anyone from entering the excavation.
  • Pavement investigations – Pavement investigations is performed two ways, Auger Dips or Test Pit. *Test Pits involve 400mm X 1400mm cut out pavement section, then excavate the layers of material for testing, DPC at sub grade then sampling for CBR, Moistures or Contamination samples. *Auger Dips involve 350mm dia auger, sufficient enough to retrieve CBR, Moistures or Contamination sample with a reduced impacted area. Faster application than test pits.
  • Environmental – Our 5Tonne excavator has a cab with filters to reduce the risk of exposure to the operator from harmful contaminates excavated. Taking daily weather conditions will determain the orientation of the excavation to ensure the safety and comfortability of the engineer.
  • Cultural Heritage – Cultural heritage investigations are very time consuming and controlled excavation. From excavator buckets to trailer motorised sieves.
  • Core Drill – Core drilling for asphalt or concrete samples or to assist for drill rigs.
  • Safety – Frys Earthmoving has practiced a system to ensure safety is the highest priority to all personnel and plant.
